My Midjourney Journey: Fractals

I started working on Midjourney to see what it can do and over time I want to compare it to other platforms offering AI image development.

Getting set up in Midjourney is not hard nor does it take time but it is a full-year subscription for the basic at $98.

As an initial step, I played with some work-related images which I won't show and some Harry Potter ideas but then wanted to see what it could do with some simple commands and mathematical-based functions; so Fractals!
But not just ask for Fractals but for Fractals in specific artistic styles.

Each image comes in a set of 4 and then you can choose to make an upscaled version of one or a variation of one of the 4.

Here are 4 of the 2D minimalist Bauhaus fractals.
I then only upscaled one. But I can upscale later at a later time if you choose.

I liked this pattern and I would want to explore more in this style.

Now let's go into the realm of Salvador Dali, who is one of my favorite artists because most of it is surreal and feels like something out of a dream.

These were nice and fluffy. So what if we were to blend styles.
Dali was a surrealist and is best known for his painting "Persistence of Memory".

But what if we combined his surreal style with the cubist style which he also worked in, though it is more often associated with Cezanne, Picasso, Braque, Gris, and Mondrian.

But wait! I want to bring in the style I work in first and shake it up; Bauhaus, the German style from the same time as Surrealism that was quite industrial and gave us the font "Bauhaus".
So let's blend!

I really liked those. But then I stepped away to play with some other ideas which I will share at a later date. But returned and again to the combined style but adding new commands to the prompt to really change things up.

In Midjourney you can mix and match. Sometimes short prompts can do amazing things but if you really want to make super-dynamic images, you need to get specific.

So let's take Dali, Bauhaus, Funky (1970s) and Psychedelic design (1960s) and then tell Midjourney to be really specific and detailed. These are trippy but cool.

So those are my Fractal creations in Midjourney and you can see the other work which I will share over time... but sadly for April 2023, I have used my month's subscription for "fast" production.

Did you like these? Which ones did you like? If you could mix artistic styles, what would you do to build a new fractal?
